Pete,

Thanks for the info.  I grew up here in St. Joe, but am not really old 
enough to have seen all the activity on these lines.  I do remember the 
last train on the Chariton branch that traveled northeast out of town.  
Seems like the power was a couple of GP9s and a miscellaneous freight 
car or two.  But, I wasn't into photography at the time...darn it!

I like to imagine the RPL&N as having a little SW EMD of some sort or 
maybe an Alco RS.... :-)

As for a tour?  That'd be neat; I know the locations you speak of, but 
not the history or the activity back in the day.  I just remember what 
I saw from the mid '60s on and have only been shooting photos 
since '86...missed a lot of the neat stuff!
