Kevin
Gene Green's Refrigerator Cars in Color book is excellent. Gene is a
dedicated researcher and freight car nut. Just out this fall from Morning
Sun.
John White's "The Great Yellow Fleet" is good for the early years, but my
understanding is the editor botched many photo captions and the post 1900
material. So use it with caution, consulting other resources to verify data.
Which is a shame because John White is another meticulous
researcher/historian who then trusted an editor who I have heard was not.
And for general Reefer info don't forget the PFE book that Tony Thompson and
others wrote. Still available from Signature Press.
