Hello,
A few years ago, I came across a book titled "The Twilight of Steam
Locomotives" by Ron Ziel. It is a rather sad story (lots of pictures)
of the end of steam. In the book is a photo essay of the last pathetic
hours of M4A 6316. It details the scrapping process of this specific
locomotive and how it is cut to pieces. Many other Q locomotives are
also shown in various stages of "dis-assembly".
If anybody is interested in details on the book, let me know.
