Am in the very early steps of converting all my paper records
to digital. Have no choice, right now can not find anything.
Am still working on Aug-1959 although there is a lot of jumping
around. Have confirmed that, at least in 1959, the power usage
followed a strict pattern. I am referring to Galesburg-Cicero
and Dayton's Bluff-Cicero. Conclusions:
Denver trains got 5 Graybacks or 4 SD24's. It looks like all the
SD24's had to go back to La Grange in late Summer but the ones
running were used on the Denver trains. One could presume that
they had just enough Grayback sets broken up to cover this service.
Once and a while there would be a SD7/9 replacing the extra
Grayback but with a tight pool this should not be surprising.
What would now be called "Priority Trains" got 4 Graybacks.
The "Junk Trains" got the 3 unit Grayback sets.
#85 and #86 got 3 unit sets or GP7's.
