Many years ago, I want to say 40 or 50, I recall a company called the
Railroad Record Club and I think they were from Hawkins, Wisconsin. They
produced a line of 78rpm records of steam locomotive sounds and there
were at least two albums of Burlington engines including 4-8-4s,
2-10-4s, Hudsons, Pacific and Mikados. They may have also been available
in 33 and 1/3 rpm, as well. I realize what I have said is woefully
unhelpful but it may just jog the memory of another old-timer who knows
whether the R.R. Record Club stuff was digitally remastered and offered
in more contemporary media and can shed some more light on the subject.
