I am new to the group and have just recently started to really get
into my modeling of the Burlington Route. I am in the Army and my
constant travels have not allowed me to railroad like I would like
to. I have questions concerning some areas that I would guess have
already been answered before.
I am modeling the former Rock Island line from Rock Island to Omaha
and have woven the Burlington into the route, having been purchased
during the 20's. I would like to reflect the Burlington as much as
possible for this.
1. What were some of the classic names given to local's?
2. How did the Burlington deliver cars to their destinations? I read
a lot about CLIC numbers, zones numbers and track numbers. What did
the Burlington use and would anyone be able to provide me a copy of
what the Burlington used?
3. Does anyone have a copy of Burlington stations I can get a hold of?
I of course would pay for the cost of reproduction and postage.
My uncle worked for the Burlington at Lincoln, B. B. Berlowitz, until
his retirement in the late 80's.
Thanks for the assistance and I love this group, took me four days to
read the over 20,000 messages.
