you might suggest they contact the Illinois Railway Museum in Union for info.
IRM did the same thing a few years back also from Accurail. I think Accurail is
more responsive to special design requests such as this.

Subject: [CBQ] Info Needed On CB&Q 40' Boxcars For Museum Model Project
Greetings,
I have been asked by one of the curators at the Union Depot Museum in Mendota,
IL to try and find some information for a model boxcar project they are
considering. These cars would be available for sale to the public, as well as
used on the HO scale display layout at the museum, built by Ray Tutaj.
Since the layout is intended to be representative of the year 1940, the car
would have to be something which would have been in use at that time. (I'm
wondering if their only choice is an outside braced wood car?) Additionally,
for various reasons they prefer these boxcars to be available from Accurail, or
Branchline's "Yard Master" series, but shoot me whatever info you have on these
cars, regardless, as this info is desperately sought by the curator.
Can anyone supply the required car info and numbering series for them?
Respond on or off list. My email addy is:
Kozys@insightbb.com
Thank you for any info you can supply "us" with on these 40 foot cars. I will
let y'all know if and when the cars become available.
