Without digging deeply into the files, I can place GP7 216, 248 and 251
assigned to Oregon, Illinois, and the 216 stationed at Rockford latter
60s-1970.
The 251 has a steam generator, and I believe the 248 did too. When the Q quit
using NW2 switchers in Oregon ca. 1966, high-nosed Geeps handled the Oregon
switching and Mount Morris branch and already had been powering the Eola-Oregon
turn for a year or two or more. Can't say anything one way or the other
about GP9s without further research.
I'll defer to someone more knowledgable re through freights, but in my photos
from the middle 60s, GP30, GP35 and SD24 models predominate.
