In BB #12 Hol Wagner states "starting about 1960, large numbers of the
1922-23 cars were placed in ice service." I am interested in what cars would
have
been in ice service in 1950 - particularly at Chicago Union Station (many of
the commuter cars had ice air). Did they just commit some of these reefers
to ice service in the Zephyr pit or were they using older reefers?
