This subject came up previously, so I'm copying the comments of Tom Koch,
BRHS Paint and Decal Shop Co-ordinator

"The bottom of the car was painted the body color. As for the trucks, I have
photographic evidence of the truck sideframes being body color as well as
black. The black may be the result of extensive weathering but both
existed."
