I just got a book from Barnes & Noble: "Bonds of Enterprise: John
Murray Forbes and Western Development in America's Railway Age" by
John Lauritz Larson. I did a search on the net on John Murry
Forbes. John Murry Forbes was the prominent Boston financier who
served as CB&Q's president for a few years in the 1800's and was
instrumental in securing the investments that built the Burlington.
I think he was an uncle to Charles Elliot Perkins.
A site on the Forbes family of Boston states that John Murray Forbes
was a brother to the great grandfather of Senator John Forbes Kerry.
