Thanks for the feedback, John.

Anyone able to help me on matching the paint?

I may b e wrong, but going through the Holbrook & Lorenz caboose
book, the only cupolas that have the four corner grabs are the NE13's.
It seems the rest have the ones going the length with the bends to
center like you mentioned. John

I'd swear I saw an email on this topic once before, but can't
find it now. What brand/color paints match the brown (Walthers
#932-7503) and red (Walthers #932-7568) waycars? I need to paint the
grabirons (and yes, some touchup from drilling the grabiron holes along
the roof of the cupola only to find the drill bit had emerged through
the upper cupola side).

Also, the cupola roof grabirons for the red waycar (and the
AMB waycar kits for that matter) are one three-sided piece for each side
of the roof that extend the length of the roof, with a 90 bend at each
end and an short extension toward the centerline of the car on either
end of the roof. In contrast, the brown NE-1 waycar includes four 90
degree grabirons, with an intermediate eyebolt for each; one grabiron
for each corner of the cupola roof. I don't believe this is accurate,
is it? The posted photos of Doug Harding's waycar models have the two
single roof grabirons along each side of the roof, for example. I
believe all of the CB&Q waycar photos I've seen are also of this design,
rather than having corner grabirons.

          Thanks,
                     Scott Myers
