Gentlemen,
I'm in the process of arranging a St. Louis-area Prototype Modeler's
Meet. My plan is to hold a one-day (9:00 AM to 9:00 PM or possibly
later) meet for local modelers to get together, display models and
BS.
I'm in the process of arranging clinics, lectures and demonstrations
by noted names in the hobby/research field. I may also be able to
arrange for door prizes and historical society tables--depending on
interest.of course. A fee may be required to help me recoup any
costs. The best dates appear to be in late August or early November,
but I am strongly leaning to a late August date.
Here's where I'd appreciate your input. Would you be intersted in
attending an event in the St. Louis area? If so, do you have any
particular suggestions for content? If you'd like to offer a
presentation, it must be offered gratis at this time. Please reply
off-line to Stlmeet@yahoo.com.
If you've never been to one of these PM meets, I strongly encourage
you to attend. I went to Bob Harpe/Jim Six's Savannah PM meets--we
had about 50 attendees, two historical societies, two vendors, and a
few modeling presentations/side shows, and it was terrific!
Attendees brought hundreds of models--Jim Six's meets in Cleveland
routinely draw 1000+ models and I think we could do the same. You'll
make friendships for a lifetime.
Thanks much for your patience and input. With your help, we can make
this event a big success.
