Rcvd the following news items courtesy of Mike Avitt of the Mt. Ayr,
IA Depot Museum (they just joined BRHS & will have a rep @ Oregon
meet). Thanks Mike!
1 - Decatur Co. IA has agreed to use Federal funds to do further
restoration of the former Leon depot now housing the County
Engineer's office.
2 - CLarke Co., IA rcvd. $310,000 in State of Iowa $$$ to restore the
Osceola depot (used by Amtrak). Coupled with other funds, they will
spend $566,000 on the depot!
3 - No details but Creston, IA depot, already preserved & being
recycled as office space, is also getting some funding.
