First of all I want to thank all for their replies to my question about fuel
oil used in steamers . Now I need to clear up a statement about taxes on
diesel fuel. I drove a fuel truck delivering diesel fuel and gasoline for 13
years so I am not just shooting in the dark. Now days #2 heating oil and #2
diesel is the same thing. You have died (red) fuel which is for nonhiway use
no motor fuel taxes paid. What they call clear, really rather green, which
is hiway diesel with motor fuel taxes paid. They are the same except for the
color and you do not want to get caught with died fuel in a hiway use
vehicle! Not good for the checking account! This goes for all fuels if it is
clear then you pay motor fuel taxes, if it is died it is taxed exempt.
 Thanks again,
   Myron Dudenbostel
