Hi all,
I would like to thank John Trulson and Randy Daniels for their quick
response. It looks like I will leave them silver with a hint of grime
for wear.

Jim and All,
Just checked. No black roofwalks. Checked original paint & lettering
drawings that are in the Waycars book and there are no photos of a black
walk. Microscale appears to be wrong. Maybe a later non-skid coating was
applied to the steel grate as a safety precaution. But not as built, in
photographic history, or working memory.
Just to keep the decision pot simmering, you could paint the waycar
orange. But still no black roof walk.
