The Wisconsin 40 et 8 boxcar was restored and in a semi-protected (canopy
roof over it) situation at Mid-Continent Railway Museum, North Freedom, Wisc.
Because it did not meet the Goals and Objectives (1885-1915 railroading) at the
Museum, it was offered to National Railway Museum, Green Bay, Wisconsin, who
accepted it. The car lived happily at North Freedom for about 40 years and was
transferred in 2002. The Green Bay museum in time will give Mid-Continent
something in exchange for the car.
The Kentucky Railway Museum in Louisville, Ky., is supposed to have
that state's car.
