Not counting the USRA heavies (class O-4), the Q's light mikes were class
O-1
and the improved O-1A; the heavies were the O-2 and O-3 classes. They
were
most easily distinguished by a straight boiler top, all taper being at
the
bottom in front of the firebox (boiler design was similar to S-3 Heavy
Pacific and M-1/M-2 2-10-2s)
They started building lights around 1910 (no longer have my rosters),
heavies
3-4 years later. The heavies were not that successful - slow and under-
steamed. The lights were so good that they were still building new O-1As
in
the '20s. . .

I don't know about you guys but to me they looked like they struggled
with esthetics until the 0-4s arrived.
