Friends,
I'm not sure if you're the ones to ask, but perhaps you can help me
out. I am modeling a section of the Burlington from Galesburg, IL, to
Omaha, NE. I know that Amtrak uses 3 letter codes for cities (GBB for
Galesburg, CRN for Creston, etc.) but wonder if you do the same. To be as
prototypical as possible, I'd love to know how the CB&Q identified the
following towns on the old Burlington main line:

Chicago, IL
Galesburg, IL
Monmouth, IL
Burlington, IA
Creston, IA
Red Oak, IA
Hastings, IA
Pacific Junction, IA
Omaha, NE
Kansas City, MO

If it makes any difference, I'm modeling the late 60s just prior to
the BN mergers. Thank you so much for your help!
