Jeff:
Here is some more bridge information for Old Monroe to Francis, 1960's time
frame. Highway 54 crossed over the line at Br. 111.90, about 3 miles east of
Francis, and consisted of a 150' truss span with 3-40' deck girder span
approaches on each end of the truss. The line crossed the West Fork of the
Cuivre River at Br. 108.14, about 1.5 miles east of Haig, which was a 6 span
concrete pile trestle. Highway 19 crossed over the line at Br. 103.10, at the
east end of Martinsburg, and contained 3-50' concrete girders. The bridge you
were referring to a few miles east of Wellsville may have been Br. 94.36, which
the profile describes as seven spans of concrete pile trestle and wood pile
trestle, over White Oak Creek. There is a steel Br. 91.64 over Elkhorn Creek
that contains a 78' deck girder and 2-50' deck girder spans. The stone arch
east of New Truxton is 78.09, and the large bridge about 1/2 mile east is Br.
77.66 which contained 1-60', 1-70', 2-30', and 2-85' deck girder spans, 1-24' I
Beam span, and 6-14' wood pile trestle spans. Br. 60.44 east of Moscow crosses
the Cuivre River after the West and North Forks combined, and consisted of
3-105', 2-90', and 2-69' deck girder spans, 24 spans of wood pile trestle, and
1 span concrete pile trestle. There were other bridges on the line that I did
not list that were moderate in length.
