Sunday afternoon while making an unauthorized by wife "ghost railroad detour
in northwest Missouri I discovered the nicely restored Maitland, MO (Nodaway
Valley Branch.....Bigelow-Clarinda) depot, off site, but it nice condition.
Beside said depot is a waycar that appears to have had a restoration
started...they got the sides painted Q red, but the car has no roof and no
interior components. The floor is completely rotted out and the end sills
are about gone. The trucks appear to be original.
No number was visible on the outside, but on the cupola end of the car over
the end door was BN 11025, so the thing apparently made it into the BN era.
Just out of curiosity I'd be interested in finding the Q number and whatever
history on the car is available.
