The 'Naperville Sun' had a multiple page feature article on the 1946
rear-ender several years ago. The article might have been published
sometime during 1996, since that was the 50th anniversary of the wreck.
It included several interesting photographs, and quoted several local
folks who witnessed the wreck or were nearby when it happened.

Right off the top of my head, he was the engineer on the train that
rear-ended a stopped passenger train in Naperville, IL April 25, 1946. I
believe he was in his early 70's at the time of the accident (he
survived)
and lived in Galesburg, IL. Don't know how much information you're
looking
for but I'm sure others on this list can provide it.
