The Silver Pelican was a 6 bedroom 5 compartment sleeping car built in 1956 for
the Denver Zephyr. I believe that, in later years, it ran on summer and holiday
consists of the DZ.
It is now owned by American Orient Express and, if memory serves correctly, is
now called Yellowstone Park. I saw the car last summer in Denver and, with blue
peer panels and nameplates, it looked simply beautiful.

I recently came across an HO brass set "CB&Q set of two business cars,
BURLINGTON, and SILVER PELICAN". Now, I do know that the Southern Rwy
provided a two car suite of cars for the use of its President (i.e. it
would not do for the president and his staff to sleep in the same car as
the crew). I have been unaware that other railroads, particularly the
Burlington, might have done the same thing (if for more acceptable reasons).
Does anywone know anything about this?
