Add one to the list of stainless steel cars that didn't carry the 'Silver' prefix...

Mr. Murphy's Office Car 'Burlington' is one...it still soldiers on today as the BNSF Mississippi River.

John Lewis

Yes...

The "Silver" prefix started with the first Denver Zephyr. All the stainless
steel equipment built after that carried the Silver prefix with two
exceptions, the baggage cars Argo and Olympus. The third stainless steel
baggage car built carried the name Silver Treasure. I have no idea why Argo
and Olympus didn't carry the SIlver previx other than the fact they were
ordered for the Nebraska Zephyr equipment and the names Argo and Olympus
match the car names of the Nebraska Zephyr, origionally the second Twin
Zephyrs. Also all the cars built for the Cal Zephyr carried the Silver prefix including Silver Rapids owned by the Pennsy. Silver Rapids kept her name even
into Amtrak Service.

Also the Burlington owned cars in the NP and GN trains didn't carry the
Silver prefix as well as the ex C&NW Coaches.
