I hate to continue an off-topic discussion, but if you subscribe to this
list (or any other Yahoo list), you are going to get spam whether you
are registered with Yahoo or not (at least this is the way I understand
it). Once they have the email address, that is all they need or want.
They know your email just by you receiving this list (or any other
list). The only way turn it off is to modify your profile to tell them
you do not want it. Otherwise, you "opt-in" for it just like many other
businesses are doing (in our area Southwestern Bell is the latest
example).

If you use a browser to read email, your browser has message filters.
Learn how they work. They can filter out most, if not all, of the spam
and toss it in your computer's trash basket before you ever see it.
