Here's a little history on the Buffalo China CO.
Originally the Buffalo pottery company, operations began in 1903. The name
Buffalo china first appeared in 1915 when it was applied to a new line of
vitreous china being produced by Buffalo Pottery. Buffalo Pottery and Buffalo
China names coexisted for many years. It was not until 1956 that the company
name was changed to the Buffalo China Company and they are still in business.
Buffalo was a prolific manufacturer of railroad dining car china. You will
find many Buffalo pieces with dates on the bottom of them, but it is
generally agreed that these dates refer to when the pattern was either
designed or copyrighted rather than when any particular piece was
manufactured.
