There are several pictures of the NW and SW switchers painted stright
black with a railroad roman Bulington spelled out along the long hood.
Somehow it sticks in my mind that Rail Model Journal had a picture of
one when they had a series about the SW-1 when Walthers released their
model of it. If I recall from the pictures correctly, the change to the
"blackbird" scheme occured in 1940 or 1941, just prior to World War II.
