All,
Zephyr 44 arrived today in Peru, Illinois (down the road apiece from
Mendota) and while reading about the Society Spring meet last April in
Mendota, I was disappointed to see no mention of the fine Burlington layout
constructed by Ray Tutaj of Mendota on display at the Mendota depot. This
layout and Ray's terrific scratchbuilding skills have been featured in more
than one national publication so it seemed rather surprising the layout and
Ray didn't get a mention in the Zephyr although the food lady did. So the
best way to a Burlington fans heart is through his stomach? That doesn't
seem right but I must agree the food was GOOD.
