Leo:
Thank you for trying to track down the 3 Bees. Any help appreciated in
trying to get stories to go with the pictures I shot when I was a kid in
Oregon in the '60s. As a collector of such stories, I'd also be interested
in any tales you could share about Oregon and its cast of characters (and
they were characters): Roy Sharick and Val Fischback in the station; Hank
Fruit, Jim Kereven and a string of brakies on the switch job; and Bob Short
and Harold Nance in the freight house. I still correspond with Nance, who
was my Little League coach, and the last time I visited Illinois in 1991
Fischback was working Rochelle for BN.
As an aside , my grandfather was an owner of the silica quarry west of town,
so we had a family connection to the Q back to about 1910 (and before that if
you count the great-uncle who built the C&I through my great-grandfather's
farm).
Good to hear from you, and keep up the posting.
Regards,
