At Chicago Union Station the Q had a large propane storage tank they used to
fill up smaller tanks for cooking on the diners. It was located between Yard
A and the Zephyr pit - right by the Records Storage building.
Does anyone want to hazard a guess as to how they would fill the large tank
in 1950? I wouldn't mind hearing about how it was done recently, but I am
particularly interested in how it was done in 1950 before the advent of large
trucks.
Thanks,
Rich
