Subject: 75 Ft. Intermodal Flatcar
Dear Sir;
The Freight Car Department of the Illinois Railway Museum is in the the
process of receiving a 75 ft. intermodal flat car built by the CB&Q in
their Havebeck Shops in 1955 as part of an order of ten cars. The car
has a one piece cast iron underframe by General Steel Castings. It was
transferred to TTX Co. in 1956. Its TTX class is F 39B. The TTX
reporting markings are TTX 470902.
What we are looking for are pictures of this car or sister cars from the
1950s. Side photos would be appreciated because a full restoration of
the car will be done by the company before it is donated. To do this,
we need to supply photos of how it looked coming out of the shop.
