This may seem a bit picky since Leo and Karl answered the location
question, and I don't trust my memory any longer, BUT wasn't the eating
establishment on the east side of Canal at 14th Street the Zephyr Diner?
I seem to recall a Grill by some other name on the NE corner of
Roosevelt and Canal. Oh, another food purveyor was located on the west
side of Canal on the south side of 14th street in the ground level
retail space under the Soo Line, but I did not set foot in it. As I
recall, it served more than coffee and soda to quench one's thirst...
