Ricky,

I attached the structure paint chips published in The Zephyr. The Bronze Green is much too dark for model use, and the Indian Red should appear a little brighter for model use. I scanned the chips, and the scans match the published chips, but I don’t know how accurate either the published or scanned colors, and my monitor isn’t color calibrated. The other colors appear correct from the depots I’ve visited.

These blackbird grays are the only Dupont paint numbers I have. I was surprised the three different paints were used. It will be interesting to see color chips of those three grays.

Alco S-2         Dupont Duco #254-6451

SW, NW, GP, SD      Dupont Duco 254-41402

SW-1000, & 1200   Dupont Duco 890-93879

You can looks at color photos of depots on Flickr page. The color variation is large due to film, lighting, and slide fading over time before they were scanned.

Nelson

Nelson,

I will run other colors.  What would be best is if there is a color picture with the bronze green and Indian red, a online paint chip or the original manufacture (like DuPont) and their formula.  Any combination would work to help better define the parameters

Thanks

Ricky Keil
