[CBQ] RIP Pete Hedgpeth

Fellow Burlington fans, we lost a good friend and associate, Pete Hedgpeth of Lincoln, Nebraska.   Pete grew up in Northwest Missouri, and worked as an extra board brakeman on the CB&Q out of Lincoln, NE during his college years at the University of Nebraska.   Following graduation he joined the Rock Island Railroad and worked for that company for several decades.   Pete was a great storyteller and shared his railroad experiences by authoring several books as well as numerous articles in The Mainline, the monthly newsletter of the Lincoln Railfans Club.   He was an active member of the club and attended regularly right to the end of his life.   We'll miss him!    - Don Zinnecker

J. Pete Hedgpeth, 89, of Lincoln Died November 30, 2025. Preceded in death by wife Sharon, grandson Quentin Beard.

Visitation Thursday 10:00 am - 7:00 pm with family present 5:00-7:00 Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home 4040 A Street

Private family burial.

Memorial Service: Monday 11:00 am Indian Hills Community Church, 1000 S 84th Street,  followed by a luncheon
