Interesting the date is 1647, because the CBQ sold that line to the MSTL in 1934-5. My understanding of the history of the line is the CBQ thought was the MSTL was in dire straits and in receivership. A study was done in 35 to see about breaking up the MSTL, and Q management thought they could buy back the line for a song during the breakup sale. Instead, the new receiver turned the MSTL around using the former Q line to enhance their own line to Illinois and the Q lost out.
