The livestock container, numbered Q 100 (not CB&Q 100), was built in November 1965 at Havelock, patterned after the SM-19C stock cars, and painted Chinese red to match the flat car. The idea was to remove the stock unit in the spring and summer when demand was low. Its 16 foot height was too much for some facilities so 1 foot 7 inches was removed at the bottom of the upper deck. Grab irons and short ladders were added at both ends and it was remounted on FM-14A flat car #92598 until scrapping in the mid-70’s.

CB&Q 92477 undated photo with what appears to be an early Stock Container. Car build date is 3-52 with the repaint date 11-65.  Detail shots appear to show the stock box is mounted into the stake pockets of the flatcar.
