Robert BRown lived in East Iowa and I went to his home several years ago and bought directly from him a copy of each of the books that he had at his home.

My understanding of this matter is that whatever books he had went to a museum at the University of Iowa. where they are probably vailable for research.

Also Bob B was good friend with railroad photographer and author   H. Roger Grant and  Bob told me one time that  Roger and his kids used to go wth him on his photgrphy expeditions  And Roger might be able to help you with whatever you need.

I sold my copies of the books I had from Brown to a member of BRHS and who is on this list, but I don't want to make that matter public.

Those books are "replete" with good information, but the photos are not so good as they are just "Photo copies of the prints that Brown had.

Pete

My thanks to all you responded and for the Iowa Museum notes. I have scans of pages that are relevant to my current project but I was hoping he could provide the source of some information used in the book.

Bob died several years ago.  I don't recall exactly when, but Dave Lotz probably knows.

I am trying to contact Robert C Brown who was Trainmaster at Creston when he retired, and he authored and published the book “CB&Q Iowa Main Line and Branch Lines Depots and Towers. The last e-mail address I have for him is rcbmeb@aol.com but that is not current. If you can assist, please contact me off-group.
