Henry, known to everyone as Hank, Balinski was an active photographer in the 1960’s. His family retains the collection and the rights to his collection.

We obtained the rights to publish his collection and have scanned the collection. Hank’s images have appeared in the Waycars book, Quincy book and Peoria book including many of our calendars. If you would like to post a thumbnail or send it to me off list, I can help verify if it is Hank’s image. 

Hank was a superb craftsman as is his son. They constructed some of the finest museum quality, fine scale examples of CB&Q engines, freight cars and equipment ever built, right down to class lights, working generators and air pumps. I had the privilege of attending one of his steam ups. It was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. Absolutely overwhelming in every aspect!
