Thanks, Hol. Since I model 1953, I’ll paint them Pullman green unless I decide to move my date up to 1956. That would give me several advantages not the least of which are the new Denver Zephyr and GP-9s and SD-9s. it would also justify running Poplar Flat or Poplar Branch on the Zephyr Rocket.

I just checked the Jan. 1, 1952, statement of ownership, age and condition of passenger equipment and it does not list either car as modernized or SSS, so they were done after that date.  But precisely when I don't know.

What year were CB&Q 171 and 176 repainted in simulated stainless steel (silver/aluminum paint)? What year was 176 given Thermopane windows?
