[CBQ] Before and Later Photos of Savanna East Yard Lead

There is a really nice vintage postcard of the east end of Savanna yard on eBay right now. The photo was apparently was taken from the highway overpass and shows the Savanna Yard tower and interlocking, the east end signal bridge, and you can actually tell which switches west of the tower were piped and switched through the interlocking levers. Pretty cool. The photo was taken around 1910:

Now fast forward 50+ years to a photo on the Castle Graphics website. The photo must have been shot from the first stairway deck of the Savanna Yard tower seen in the postcard above. It is of a GP20 leading a pair of SD9's out of Savanna yard: http://transport.castlegraphics.com/displayimage.php?album=27&pos=18 

It's pretty cool to compare the number of pipes for switch control as well as the signal bridge which now has searchlight signals instead of the semaphores of 1910. For me the postcard really made the east end of Savanna Yard come alive and gave me a whole new insight into the area and what I was looking at in the 1960's photo. Almost a mini time machine. It also pointed out a couple of things that are clear on my track diagram of Savanna Yard but I missed. So I'v now got a bit of track re-arranging to do to get to the engine facility!
