The left cart appears to have a 6ET brake system on it.  This is the same brake that was used on steam locomotives (E= engine;  T=tender) and when those engines went to scrap, the ever so frugal Q removed the 6ET system and and had it installed it on the early EMC/EMD switch engines.  I don't see any brake stands (train and/or engine brakes) on the other cart so I'll say that's "under the cab floor" air brake equipment.
