Brian - Some interesting images. Thanks. I don't think the Bowie image is the one we're looking for as T&P Derrick No. 7 is shown clearing a wrecked freight car and not the Texas Zephyr. But, checking for other images of No. 7 clearing wrecks during the early/mid-1950s is a very good idea. Another "identified" image might turn-up. Best Regards - Louis

I am not 100% certain this is the location, however according to this site, the T&P derrick No. 7 was in Bowie, TX July 1947 assisting with a train wreck.  Doesn't say if it was on the FW&D or the CRI&P as they crossed each other in Bowie.  This may give you a starting point.  Photo is at the bottom of the page.
