Long ago I used a Tamiya color called Japanese Air Force Gray for the lighter
colored (almost white) covered hoppers.
It was a good match for the fairly new appearance of the two and three bay ACF
cars of the Q and RI.
Not sure if it still exists...

I want to paint a model in the gray
covered hopper paint scheme shown here:
http://rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1792755
http://rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=3871783
Can anyone recommend a match for this color gray? My
preference is to use Model Master enamels, but I may be able
to locate a bottle of Floquil or Scalecoat if either made
this color.
Thanks,
