Yes, I remember reading the article that accompanied this photo and it
was his family and two of the suited men were CB&Q officials Road
Foreman of Engines etc. It was kind of customary for family to
participate and I have heard of wife even riding in cab although
someone must have looked the other way. One thing that confused me
about the bars on the engine though was there were only three of them
which was up to date in 1950 since the Mark Twain Zephyr was started
in 1935. Maybe they due another bar and were 2 years late in getting
it. Maybe the bar system wasn't the same as uniforms. Lots of maybes
when you go back 57 years. Archie
