Have another question for the group. Attached is a photo of a train order
board used on many lines west depots. It appears to be made for a lantern to
set under the paddle for use at night. Other photos would indicate that
these were electrified in later years with what appears to be a marker light
mounted under the paddle. Is there a name for this type of signal. I read
one publication where it was called a "Swift" but it was in quotes so not
sure it was the name of the manufacturer or a slang term.
