Bill,

I can't positively say one way or the other as to the location of Barriger 
photo #97 being anywhere around East Dubuque.  I was there in the early 60's 
about 25-30 years after these photos were taken.  Granted, much can change but 
I just don't see any resemblance to the East Cabin area nor the East Dubuque 
interchange yards I remember.  It does look like another one of those Zephyr 
signs are also in the photo.

    If you download the original image and zoom in, you can see that the    
sign is a Zephyr zone post.
    
    You might also look at picture 97 in the Barringer collection.    Someone 
has tagged it as East Dubuque too, but I am not familiar    enough with the 
area to know for sure.

I was trying to identify the small signal post in front of          the small 
shanty across from the depot.  I tried to zoom in on          my computer 
without success as the image gets way to fuzzy to          identify what the 
post was telling the engineer.  Zephyr          speed?  Whistle? Mile marker?  
Inquiring minds would like to          know!
