I believe there's a picture of one of the Gp7s pulling the Zephyr Rocket 
(though it may be after the train lost its name).

  I am not aware of any on name trains. I believe I heard a GP-7 was used with 
Silver Pendulum as a connector train.


  On branch lines there were numerous Gas Electrics (Passenger Motor Car) used. 
Also if a train was  a mixed 
  they sometimes used switchers.
