Cy,

The information that Public Timetables don't give you is the tonnage ratings for the E-5,7,8 & 9's over the system. The freight Operating Data Sheets give you the tonnage ratings of the complete freight diesel fleet, and how much tonnage each class of locomotive is rated for over the entire 'Q' system- station to station. For instance- how many tons is a E-5 rated for from Billings, Mt. to Frannie, Wy. vs. a E-7, E-8 or E-9. What is the tonnage rating difference between a E-7 with 52:25 gearing (113 mph) vs. 55:22 gearing (95 mph). This is information that would be interesting to have.

Subject: [CBQ] Passenger Operations

After pouring through my 'Burlington Lines- Operating Data
Sheets' ,covering the 'Q' freight operations, (reprinted by the BRHS
in 1998) for the umpteenth time. I am curious if the Passenger
Department had similar data sheets covering the consists of passenger
trains and how they were to be made up? A compilation, in book form,
from, say the late 50's, would certainly offer a wealth of
information. Did the passenger department have such data sheets- and
has the BRHS ever considered publishing them in book form like they
did for the freight operations?
