Down our way, it was always called"fire insurance". I never heard it called anything else. My grandfather and both uncles were great beleivers in it but never collected a dime of it. My mother, who was a clerk said she didn't need it.

That's how I always heard it referred to  ie  "Job Insurance"   on the CB&Q...Seems like everybody had it.

BRCF was the first bill I paid each month. There were times when it was BRCF that kept my seven kids fed.
On the Cheap & NoWages we called it 'can insurance'. And when I pulled the pin they sent me a nice check. PAW
