The current crop of youngsters don't have a clue about working at 
whatever task our Dad's and Granddad's had for us. Most parents today do 
all they can to shield their offspring from anything like real work. Of 
course exceptions exist where youngsters grow up on family farms, but 
those are few and far between now days.
Hard work and manual labor just isn't done in todays world. It makes our 
children weak in more than the physical. Character is built with every 
stroke of a hay-fork, hoe, shovel, pick-axe ,mallet, or hammer.  
Regrettable in many ways.Personally, did a lot of that sort, but I know 
I didn't watch as closely as I should have.There are many things other 
things that I should and could have learned even as he was teaching  the 
good stuff.
